Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle on the way….Yippee, it’s Christmas coming and along with it is coming the opportunity of merry-making, feasting and partying. Oh, I just love it!!!

You know earlier, I used to feel very disappointed that my perfect Christmas celebration is incomplete sans snowfall like shown in movies, but then I realized I have much more to do. :) I know when we take name of Christmas a picture of any exotic English place comes in mind with a snowy backdrop. But come on, it’s Christmas and is celebrated worldwide whether snow or no snow.

To break the myth and show a glimpse of how we Southeast Asian’s celebrate this pious and lively festival, I am here and trust me after you get a hint how grandly we celebrate Christmas you would like to fly down here to be a part of it!

All set to get lost in the divinity and festivity? Be with me.

City Lights

During Christmas festivity, the city of Hong Kong glitters all night long. Every night during Christmas you can go to Victoria Harbor and watch the free holiday light show. The buildings get flashier and more colorful every year, and the added 3-D light show makes the Christmas season the best time to watch.

To enjoy maximum, you can sit along the shore at the pedestrian walk called Avenue of Stars, have a meal in a restaurant, which will be floating as it will be situated in a boat, or you may ride the Star Ferry during the Symphony of Lights display.

Display And Decoration

Drenched in the festivity of Christmas you can see huge displays and eye-catching decoration all over Hong Kong. However, to get the glimpse of most extravagant decorations you can visit the 1881 Heritage Royal Ice Palace- The ritzy hotel on Victoria Harbor builds grand themed decorations in its front plaza each year.

You can also check out the best display at Statue Square by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. These are epic displays put up by the ritziest jewelry companies.

Hong Kong has about 63 Michelin-starred restaurants, and many are quite affordable so feasting with friends get easier here.
