2018 has been a wonderful year for all the e-commerce businesses in India. Here’s a high recall of the upcoming sale events to aware shoppers about the mega deals and offers to wait for them.

According to a RedSeer survey report, it is estimated that about 63% of the online shoppers purchase during festive sale events just to enjoy heavy discounts and offers doled out by the leading e-commerce portals.

Contrary to the last year’s report, about 70% of the online customer awareness is done through various social media platforms via e-tailers. This is because, customers spend more time on social media than on Newspaper or TV promotion, resulting in the increase in awareness via social media from 19% in 2017 to 38% in 2018.

Apart from the social media websites, TV ads are also becoming great awareness mode for festive sale. Take an example of the recent mega sale event – the Flipkart’s “Big Billion Sale”. For the promotion of the gala sale event, Flipkart has endorsed almost all top celebrities and even the lead cast of the leading fictional TV channel’s prime serials.

You must have come across various ads wherein famous celebrities like Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Virat Kohli are promoting this festive sale event. Not only this, Flipkart has even endorsed all the lead TV actors and actresses of lead serials of StarPlus to promote their sale event during every advertisement.

Hence, TV ads and social media websites are perfect ways to creates awareness among the customers about the upcoming festive sale event.

According to the reports, willingness to buy products during the festive sale events are comparatively high and especially in the electronics and fashion section as these are the most popular categories amongst the online shoppers.
