Morocco Ranks Fifth In Africa For The Most Readily Online Shopping

Morocco is among the top 10 countries in the world that is popular for online shopping.
According to the UNCTAD B2C e-Commerce Index, the country measures an economy’s readiness for online shopping.
The country Morocco also ranked 81st in the world in the same report.
According to the statistics findings, the country has secure internet server penetration was with a hike of 15 percentage points.
In the record collected by UNCTAD, Mauritius is at the top list in the African countries offering e-commerce shopping readiness, Nigeria 75th, South Africa 77th and Tunisia 79th.
The list further states that Morocco is at peak of Ghana ranked 85th, Kenya ranked 89th, Uganda ranked 99th, Botswana ranked 100th and Cameroon ranked 101st.
In the November month, the government’s telecommunication regulator said, “Morocco had a total mobile subscriber of 44,027,000 as of June 30, 2018. The number is growing every year and the telecommunication regulator is prepared to get in partnership with Bank Al-Maghrib to launch “M-Wallet’ for easy online payment options for buyers”.
Although the UN survey ranks, it is clear that many different countries from all over the world, has paid attention to Africa and thereby stressing on the continent to increase Internet access to grow e-commerce.
There has been a continuous increase in purchase rate online. In the annual survey in 2017, European countries have recorded 68% of internet users whereas when compared to the figure in Africa it was only 13% on average in 2017.
The regular increasing the number of online shoppers to 50% has helped the continent to gain 77 million additional online shoppers and the predictable B2C income would more than twofold.
