Watsons Vietnam to launch this month

Watson, headquartered in Hong Kong is a healthcare and beauty retailer which is ready to be launched in Vietnam.  

The first Watsons Vietnam store will be open on January 17 in Ho Chi Minh City in the lower floors of high profile Bitexo tower.

The store will occupy about one floor of a two-storey space in place of recently replaced store Topshop.

The inauguration has a huge backdrop with the slogan name “Look good, Feel great” has now been built outside to attract the trespassers and especially the young Vietnamese to take selfies and check in on social media.  

Watsons Vietnam main competitor is Hong Kong rival healthcare and beauty chain Guardian owned by Dairy Farm International in Ho Chi Minh City in 2011. Now, it claims to have more than 60 stores in four cities. 

The healthcare store is operated by AS Watsons is a subsidiary of big retail and telecommunication giant CK Hutchison. The quarter-holding Singapore sovereign investment fund Temasek Holdings has about 6800 Watsons health and beauty stores in more than 12 markets in Asia and Europe, including the countries in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. 

The AS Watson group has now a total of 14,500 stores, together with electrical retailers and grocery shop.

Recently, Watson celebrated the opening of its 500th store in Bangkok, Thailand.
